I just had to post quickly that Nathan went almost the whole night in his own bed!!! I put him down at about 9:45 and it took him about 15 minutes to fall asleep. He stayed in his own bed until 3am. When he came into our room I put him right back into his bed. He feel asleep about five minutes later and slept until almost 7am! Finally! Let’s just hope this isn’t a fluke! Once he gets the sleeping thing down we are hitting potty training full on!
Monday I converted Nathan’s bed to a toddler bed. He LOVES it! He was so excited when he saw it. He kept jumping up and down on it and smiling really big. I have been decorating it all week and I just have a few last minute touches to add. Nathan is getting so big…he’s not a baby anymore :( But that’s ok, I love watching him grow and discover new things everyday :)
Tuesday I had my monthly checkup with the doctor. Baby is doing good. I’m measuring right on track. The heartbeat was 143. Next week is our ultrasound!! I am soo excited but also a little nervous! I just want to know that everything with the baby is good and that the baby is healthy! We spent the remainder of the day running errands and buying things to complete Nathan’s room.
Thursday we all went to Siesta Key. It is soo beautiful there! Nathan loved playing in the sand. He didn’t quite understand building sandcastles and kept knocking down everything Daddy built. The ocean was still cold so John took Nathan in briefly. He did do a face plant in the water at one point but seemed to be just fine. Nathan fell asleep in the car and then also laid back down with John when we got home. They were both pooped!
And today we went to the Zoo with Jackie and Aidan. John and I bought a Zoo pass this year so I’m going to make the most of it. Nathan is really getting into animals so he loved looking at everything. We tried the splash pad but him and Aidan were much more interested in the train. So we took them on the train ride and they really enjoyed it. We also fed the giraffes again. Nathan was a little hesitant but I feel the giraffes were being a little more agressive this time. I thought Nathan would sleep on the way home but instead he opened my water bottle and poured it all over himself and the backseat. Hey at least it was water!
I’m tuckered out from this busy week. I’m looking forward to relaxing this weekend. Although, I do need to get this house back in order. I’ll update everyone again next week when we find out if Nathan is having a brother or sister!
This week has been pretty uneventful here in the Kominsky House. Nathan has gotten back into his routine after our mini vacation. I’m starting to feel Baby #2 more and more. This pregnancy is becoming more real now that I’m feeling the little peanut in there :)
John was on TV again this week. He is becoming quite the star! We are so proud of everything that he does. Nathan loves seeing Daddy on TV! He looks at up and yells DADDA DADDA DADDA!
There was a new additon to the family on Friday. Steven and Heather welcomed baby Dawson Lee to the world. He is very cute and tiny! So far everyone is doing great!
We are in the process of redoing Nathan’s room. Since he is obsessed with balls we are going with a ball theme. We are going to convert his bed this week. Hopefully he will be excited about his “big boy” bed and actually sleep in his own room! Oh we can wish right!??! I’ll post pix once it’s all done.
We also need to move the other two bedrooms around and combine the office and the guest room into one. I moved the bed yesterday and I think it’s gonna work out pretty well. Things really change with a second child coming into the mix. We are running out of room!
I have an appt on Tuesday so I’ll update everyone on Baby #2 then!
We just got back from our trip last night. It was great to spend time with our family and friends. It always goes by way too fast. We were on the go most of the time. And we tried to squeeze in as many of our Cincy favorites as we could. We had LaRosa’s, Skyline, El Coyote, Penn Station, UDF, Bluegrass Mets and couple Busken cookies. We brought home cans of Skyline and bottles of Montgomery Inn Sauce. And we have Grippos on the way! Yum typing all of that makes me hungry!
One of my favorite parts of the trip was our visit to the Hill ‘N’ Dale Horse Farm. It is absolutely beautiful! Nathan really liked the horses…he had been saying horse for a week prior. It felt great to be back in Lexington even if it was only for a few hours. We did sneak by Keeneland but didn’t stay long. It really made me miss Kentucky.
Saturday we went to the Reds Cubbies game. Reds lost but it was still a great time. Nathan was asleep for about the first hour. When he woke up he was entertained the whole time by eating and playing with peanuts. Such cheap entertainment!
Both flights were a success. Nathan only slept for about 45 mins on the way there but he was pretty good for the flight. He played with his blocks and ate pretzels. On the way back he slept the entire flight. He was exhausted from all the excitement of the previous week.
We had such a great time. Leaving back home is always hard. I don’t like goodbyes and it makes you really home sick. I think this is especially true now that we have Nathan. He was little confused and looking for everyone when we got back to Tampa. It’s heart breaking to tell him they aren’t here :( But who knows…maybe one of these days we’ll get back for good :)
Nathan has started saying Uh Oh and it is really cute. The other day I turned off the TV and he says “Uh oh, happened?” He says almost anything we ask him to say and he knows what a lot of things are called. One of his favorite “games” is to name everything he can say…the list goes on and on. Lately he has started getting frustrated when he is trying to tell me something but he can’t get it out. I know it is just a matter of time before he gets it.
Thursday we colored Easter eggs. He didn’t quite get it but he’s still little. The first egg he grabbed he smashed. Then when he dunked one of the eggs he stuck his whole hand in the dye to get it back out. Luckily it was yellow and came off easy. Next year I think he will really enjoy it.
Today was Easter and of course the Easter Bunny came. His basket was outside on the back porch waiting for him. It was full of eggs that looked like balls. He is obsessed with balls right now. The eggs had fruit snacks in them and he was stuffing as many in his mouth as he could fit.
Baby #2 is getting bigger everyday. John has been taking pictures of my belly every week and the change from last week to this week is really noticeable. I’m gonna be HUGE before this baby gets here. Although I haven’t gained any weight yet. I’m just ready to find out what we are having and to start feeling the baby move.
This coming week we leave for Cincinnati. We are all very excited to see everyone and to have a little taste of home. I’m just a little nervous about our flight out there. It leaves at 6am!! So early!! I’ll update everyone again once we get back!
