C is for Cupcakes! Last week I got to experience The Wicked Whisk Yelp Elite style. TWW is a quaint little bakery nestled in Sycamore Square. The bakery is owned and operated by a mother daughter team. The recipes are inspired from family recipes. They use all natural ingredients and even offer gluten free options.
The Wicked Whisk gals made miniature versions of their tasty treats for us to sample. Everything was delicious! My favorite was the toffee cupcake. It literally melted in my mouth. They have such a great variety. There is something for everyone. I can’t wait to go back and try some more.
Our community manager, Jamie, etched Yelp wine glasses for us to take home. I love all my Yelp swag but this is probably my favorite. We also decorated dessert plates. It really helped to get our creative juices flowing. This lead us into the main event of the night. Cupcake Wars!!
We were split into four teams. Our mission was to create a cupcake to be sold in the bakery for the month of April. We had 20 minutes to design our cupcake and name it. When the time was up our creations were judged. I was on team one. We went with a vanilla cupcake topped with lemon flavored butter cream icing. We then garnished it with coconut flakes and sugar sprinkles. We were thinking Spring. We did not win but it was a great time.
Bravo to the Richmond Yelp team and The Wicked Whisk. It was such a fun evening. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and cannot wait to visit again soon!
