Ok so yesterday I left you when we got back from Chicago. After picking the boys up we headed back to Hebron. Thursday we spent a few hours at the Creation Museum. I have never actually been through the museum. We always just walk around the grounds. They are breathtakingly beautiful! There is also a petting Zoo. We have been taking the boys for a few years now.
Wow, what a week! Did you all miss me? I had so much fun soaking up every second with my guys. We drove to Hebron, KY (just outside of Cincinnati) to spend time with family. It took us 14.5 hours. We drove straight through. We will NEVER do that again. Thankfully we made it safe and sound. The boys slept a good majority of the trip.
We spent the first few days visiting with John’s family and some of our friends. It was nice to catch up with everyone. The weather was gorgeous. It felt amazing to be back in the Midwest. You can run barefoot through the grass!! Something you would never want to do in Florida. The wilds’ favorite part was riding the tractor with Grandpa. They rode his Deere almost every day and somedays twice.
After our run we quickly showered and headed back downtown for lunch. We ate at Lou Malnati’s. We ordered their famous deep dish pizza. It was amazing! After lunch we walked around Michigan Ave for a bit. Again the weather was perfect. That evening my brother in law treated us to an out of this world dinner. We ate at Chicago Cut. Seriously! I am still dreaming about that dinner.
Wednesday morning it was time to say goodbye and head back to Cincinnati. I had a wonderful time in Chicago. It was awesome to reconnect with John. Every couple needs alone time every now and again. I was happy to see the wilds. I missed them like crazy! Tomorrow I’ll recap the second half of part 1 of our vacation.
