We just got back from a fabulous weekend in Kohler, Wisconsin. It was finally wedding weekend. I’ve only been talking about this wedding for months now. Saturday John’s brother Tom and his fiancee Allison tied the knot. The weekend was straight out of a story book. It was filled with love, laughter, and lots of wonderful memories.
We started our drive on Wednesday. We stopped a little over half way to spend the night with John’s dad. We then finished the rest of the drive Thursday. We arrived in Kohler around 1:00. Kohler is such a beautiful village. It’s very picturesque. Everything was in full bloom and the colors were amazing.
Later that afternoon we went out to the Lodge for the guys to do some shooting. I had fun watching and taking pictures. It was great to be out in nature soaking up everything Kohler has to offer. The guys had a little bet on the festivities. John took second place.
That evening we just hung out at the Sandhill Cabin. Can we say gorgeous? It was a nice and cozy evening. The next morning I got up to pick up the aunts from the airport and run some errands. The guys went golfing. After getting all my errands done I took the boys to Blue Harbor. It was so pretty. We walked down by the water and then found a cute ice cream parlor. Friday evening was the welcome dinner back at Sandhill. It was a wonderful evening spent with friends and family.
Finally the big day! Saturday around noon John, the boys, and I went out to Whistling Straights where the wedding was taking place. Tom and Allison had asked us if we would like to get ready with them. I was honored and very happy to be there for them. It was an emotional and very special morning. I have memories that I will never forget. The wedding started just after 4:00. It was perfect. The flowers, oh the flowers.
The reception was so much fun. The food was delicious. They really did everything up to the last detail. The golf course in itself is gorgeous. It was a breathtaking backdrop for the evening. Everyone danced the night away and welcomed the happy couple into their marriage with a bang. It was definitely a weekend to remember.
