O M G! Weddings are my fav. When I was in high school we had to create a fake business for computer class. I picked wedding planner. I have just always loved weddings and still do to this day. I cannot believe mine was almost ten years ago! Where does the time go? We are still trying to decide how we are going to celebrate.
Okay getting back to the topic of today’s post…my brother is getting married! He is marrying an amazing girl. They have a very interesting story. But that is their story to share so I will not go into details here. Jon and Kandy have a four year old son, Landon. This wedding is a long time coming and we all are just so excited.
Last Sunday she invited her squad to help her wedding dress shop. Squeeee! It was so much fun. We went to Sophia’s Bridal. What a beautiful shop! They thought of every detail when they revamped this space. From the gorgeous vintage flower wall paper to the gold ceilings I’m talking every detail. Kandy started by going through and grabbing gowns that caught her eye. We then all met at the dressing room for the big reveal.
We were quite a large group. Eleven to be exact. Kandy brought wine and champagne. Yes, please! Emily (my sister) and I put little gift bags together for everyone. It was just a little welcome to our family token. They are not having a wedding party so she wanted all the women in her life at the dress appointment. (Don’t mind my half closed eyes)
Drum roll please:: The first dress she tried on was amazing! As soon as she looked in the mirror she stared crying. It was definitely a moment full of chills and “oh wow this is real!” She tried on several other dresses but I just could not get dress #1 out of my head. I don’t think she could either. We decided she needed to put it back on. And yep! It was THE dress. Funny side note: my wedding dress was the first one I tried on too.
So she said YES to the dress! It was such a wonderful day full of love. I cannot wait to watch her walk down the aisle in September. I am so thankful her and my brother found their way back to each other. They deserve a happily ever after and they are most certainly getting it :)
When did you know your dress was THE one?
