Do you ever just get an itch to change up something in your house? I know I do. In case you didn’t know, we rent our house. I would love to own a house but that’s story for a different day. With that said, there isn’t much changing I can do to this house. However, I can do small things. I decided last month I wanted to change up the wilds’ bathroom. It was an ugly yellow and needed some updating.
John was out of town and I decided on a whim to stop into Lowes and look at paint. I found a medium to dark gray that I really loved. So I bought a can and some supplies and decided that would be my afternoon project. I have painted many times before so I am not a newbie. I also needed to patch the wall where the towel rack has been hung and rehung one too many times.
I only had about three hours before the boys would be home for school. I went to work on patching the holes and taping. Oh taping. That is the most tedious part. It’s also my least favorite part but it has to be done. I didn’t actually start painting until maybe 6:00 that evening. I painted until about 9:00 and was able to finish the first coat. I let it dry over night.
The next morning it was time to paint the second coat. I absolutely love how it turned out. The bathroom looks much better and feels a little bigger too. I am also happy that the towel rack is back up and in use. It doesn’t take much to make a subtle room change. I only spent about $20.00 and was able to totally transform the room.
