Do you like cookbooks? I love them. There is something about running your fingers over the pages of a good cookbook. They remind of my childhood. We spent the summers at my Oma’s house. She would pull out her cookbooks and we would bake different things. We had so much fun in the kitchen. Some of my fondest memories were made in the kitchen with the cookbooks.
I recently got my hands on the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook special edition presented exclusively by Dillard’s. The cookbook is $10. The sale of this cookbook supports the Ronald McDonald House. It helps support families of seriously ill children have a comfortable place to stay near their child. You can find it at Dillard’s and you can also order it online.
I visited my local Ronald McDonald House last week. It was such an eye opening experience. I had heard of this organization before but never knew exactly what they do. I was blown away and now I want to help in any way that I can. They do so much for families with a sick child. The support they show is really amazing. They help provide a comfortable place to stay so that all you have to worry about getting your child well.
There are many different ways that you can help. As I mentioned you can purchase the Christmas cookbook. It would make wonderful gifts for many people on your list. You can volunteer your time. You can donate items from the Wishlist. You can also give monetary donations. There are many other ways that you can get involved. Check out your local house for specific ways that they need support.
I am looking forward to making the recipes in this cookbook. It will now be a book that I will purchase every year. I am also going to look into other ways that I can help. I am truly thankful that my boys are healthy but that can change in an instant. It makes me happy to know that the Ronald McDonald House is there if I ever need it. Giving back is such a rewarding experience. I am now a proud supporter of this great organization!
