Date Night Essentials

Date nights are a bit of a rarity for us since we became parents. We jump at any chance we get. I do try to schedule a night out for John and I at least once every other month. I feel like getting out of the house just the two of us is important. It helps us stay sane and helps us to reconnect. I have a few date night essentials that I always keep on hand. I found them all at Walmart.

Emergen-C is one of my favorite products. It helps me with general health and wellness. More Healthy Days, More Healthy Nights. With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you’re looking for! Drink some before your date and feel nice and energized for the night. Drink some the next morning for a great pick up after a long night.

I am a huge fan of lip products. You can never have enough. I recently discovered ChapStick Total Hydration. Wow! This is now my new favorite. It is 100% Natural, Age defying, and Instantly smoothes and moisturizes. Advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils helps keep my lips smooth and kissable for date night.

I can easily throw the Advil Tablet Vial into my purse. You never want a headache to ruin your night. The original round tablets providing safe, effective pain relief for over 25 years. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers). You may also need this the next morning depending on what your date night entailed.

Do you ever have trouble deciding on what to do for date night? I have come up with a fun and easy solution. Date night idea envelopes. I brainstormed ideas,  printed them out, and stuck them in envelopes. When date night rolls around I have my husband draw one, open it up, and that is what we are doing. It’s fun and takes the guesswork out of what we are doing for the night.

We try and go out on nice date nights twice a month. My daughter goes with her dad every other weekend and so that gives us some time since we don’t have any children of our own yet. We go out to dinner sometimes. A lot of times we rent a movie on our tv and cuddle up. We also have talks quite often. We have rocking chairs on the front porch that we have coffee dates. Take our coffee outside, sit and just talk. It’s so nice.

I love date night, especially when it’s spontaneous! Our daughter was spending the night out at her grandparents last weekend and my husband says to me “Let’s go to the Billy Joel concert!” Out of nowhere, he bought tickets like, 30 minutes before the show was starting :) It was so fun and sweet!

I always have Advil and some kind of lip product in my purse. My friends always joke that I am more prepared than anyone.

Our “date nights” usually require comfy pjs, working Internet and our Roku–we use them to catch up on the shows we both watch since most evenings and weekends are spent taking care of individual projects :)

Our date nights are usually done at home, but these are good stuff to have in your purse. I”ve never thought of bringing Emergen C.

We always have Nexium because we usually either get takeout at home, or we go out to dinner–my husband gets horrible heartburn, so we try to nip that in the bud whenever we can!

Chapstick is an essential to my daily life in general! I can never have enough of it. I love the little date night heart envelopes. Such cute and a great idea…especially for me because I’m so indecisive.
