I is for Indianapolis. I was born in Indianapolis. I called it home for 21 years. The Hoosier State. We love basketball and racing. Home of the Indy 500. It is the 12th largest city in the US and the 2nd largest city in the Midwest, just behind Chicago.
Indiana will always be home to me. Most of my family still resides there. I usually visit home 2 times a year. Downtown is a fun place to go out for dinner and drinks. Some of my downtown favs are Rock Bottom Brewery and Tap & Dolls Bar. Another fun place to go out is Broadripple. Lots of fun little bars and clubs. It is also a very artsy part of town with fun and unique shops.
The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is the largest half marathon in the nation. It has sold out having 35,000 participants for the past 12 years. I have never ran this myself but have had several friends and family run in it. Maybe one day I’ll do it, we’ll see.
There will always be a place in my heart for Indianapolis. It is a large city but not as fast paced as some of the others. The summers are HOT and the winters are cold and snowy. Indianapolis is the home of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. We take our sports seriously in this town.
Have you ever been to Indianapolis?
