Over the weekend we took a quick trip to Philly. We went up for a retirement party. We had dinner at Philadelphia 6. It was a very nice dinner. The wilds were well behaved at the restaurant. After dinner we headed over to Ruby Tuesday next to our hotel for a night cap. The boys were so tired. Logan fell asleep in the booth.
Sunday morning we got up bright and early to check out downtown. I had made a reservation for the Independence Hall tour at eleven. We visited Liberty Bell Center the home of the Liberty Bell. The air was electric. The Bell is much bigger than I expected. It was very surreal seeing it within a fingertip’s reach. The wilds are too young to understand but hopefully one day they will appreciate it.
During our tour we got to visit the room where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The room where George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson stood. Again, walking in Independence Hall you could just feel the history. It was very cool. I loved every minute. It gave me chills being in the very room where America was born. We also toured the grand ball room upstairs. The room is said to be haunted. I really felt like we were stepping back in time.
I would love to visit Philly again when we have more time. There is so much history there. It was a very cool experience. I am definitely proud of our heritage. ‘Merica baby!
