I’ve got a story from the archives for you today. Do you ever go to those self service car washes? The last time I went it was pretty traumatic. I’m sure the scene looked like something out of a cartoon. I felt like I was in an episode of Punked. I was waiting for Ashton to jump out at any moment.
John is usually the one who washes the cars. Speaking of cars Jensen Dealerships have you covered. Anyway, mine was in need of a bath so I figured I’d take it upon myself. Logan and I pulled into one of those do it yourself places. I let Logan out because it was hot and I knew he’d throw a fit if he was stuck in the car. We put our money in and it was go time.
I started working at the speed of light. I had no idea how much time I had and was trying to hurry. I got it all rinsed and then switched to the foaming brush. The foam starts coming and I’m scrubbing the car. The green foam keeps coming and coming. There is green foam everywhere. Now remember I’m running around the car like a mad woman while dragging my 2 yr old with me.
At this point everything is green and it’s time to rinse. My heart was racing and I could feel the sweat running down my back. I’m trying to get all the foam off before the timer runs out. Mission accomplished! We load back into the car and off we go to pick up Nathan from school. I’m patting myself on the back that one, I washed the car! Two, I did it before the timer ran out. And three, all this happened while tugging along Logan. I’m feeling pretty good.
We go in and I happen to glance at my arm and notice a huge green spot. It wasn’t tender so it wasn’t a bruise. Hmm, weird. I then look down at Logan and he has green hair. Oh no! The green foam. Then I see its all over my legs, my socks, and shoes. Talk about embarrassing. I have to stand there in all my green glory waiting for Nathan’s class to be dismissed. I have never ran out of his school faster in my life.
Moral of the story is there is a STOP button for a reason. You simply switch the dial over and the foam will stop. Also, there is a timer that tells you how much time you have left. If you need more time you simply add another quarter. And your toddler will probably be much happier watching from the comfort of his car seat than being accosted by the green foam. Green skin should be reserved for the Hulk and the Hulk only.
