Saturday night John and I finally got to see Mr. Chesney in the flesh. John has been a huge Kenny Chesney fan for years. We have never been able to get our hands on tickets. I was so excited for our date night. The concert was at Raymond James Stadium. The timing worked out perfectly. Mom is still in town and didn’t mind watching the boys for the night.
We headed out around 3:00 to grab dinner before the show. We decided on Fire Bar & Grill. Fire is a fairly new restaurant in South Tampa. I have passed it many times during construction and since it’s been open. It was a great choice. The decor has a very modern flair. It has very cool and energetic vibe. The food is delicious! I had the mushroom and goat cheese wood fired pizza. Wow, I almost ate the whole thing by myself.
We got to the parking lot with a little time to spare. We weren’t too interested in seeing the two opening acts. John and I had a couple drinks and then made our way into the stadium around 6:00. We caught the last couple songs from Eli Young Band. There was a short intermission. Then it was time for ERIC CHURCH!!!
Eric Church rocked the house. He had so much energy and is such a cool guy. Creepin’ was his opening song. He really captivated the audience. Church stole the show. John and I were raving about how good he was live. He definitely did not dissapoint. I will be looking for his shows in the future. He is someone I would love to see again.
It was then Kenny time! Wow! He had so much energy. His set was awesome. He played for a little over two hours. He kept the energy up the whole time. Chesney has such a stage presence. You can tell he really loves what he does. He was feeding off the energy from the almost 48,000 fans. I loved it. John and I were dancing and singing along. The atmosphere was electric.
I had such a great time. It was nice to have a carefree night out with John. Date nights are so important. Ours are very few and far between since we don’t have family here. I really cherish the alone time that we do get. John even posted on FB that he fell in love with me all over again :) Swoon!
