I workout!

I've been really hitting the fitness hard this month. Before I met John I was not athletic at all. And really it took me until after I had Nathan to start working out. Growing up I was blessed with not having to worry about what I ate. I was always skinny. But in my early 20s I put on a little bit of weight. Obviously when I got pregnant I put on even more weight. I don't feel like I have ever been overweight I just wasn't happy with where I was.

Lookin a little frumpy
The beginning of last year I decided to change that. That was when I did a whole revamp of my diet and started running. Now I will never turn back. Yes, I go through phases where I'm not as disciplined as I should be but that's ok. I still keep the big picture in sight and eventually get back on track.

Proud of this Yelp badge!
The main reason I exercise and eat healthy is my health. Now it is more important than ever. At this point it's non negotiable. I feel better than ever. The second reason is that I want to live a long healthy life with my family. I want to teach the boys good habits. I love being an active family. I feel like an active family is a happy family.

The third reason I work out...I want my husband to do a double take when I walk by.

Why do you choose to exercise and eat healthy? Or why don't you do these things?

Being athletic and working out are part of my identity. I grew up as a athlete and had a difficult time adjusting to life after college when I wasn't playing sports anymore. The time I felt best and most like myself? When I was working out, running, or coaching. I love that working out keeps me healthy, both physically and mentally!I love teaching others about sports, health and fitness. I also don't mind my fiance checking out my butt when I walk by (Yay for squats and lunges)

I was never athletic growing up. I was active, but never very good at physical things. I'm still not. Lately, my workouts have been on the backburner to everything else. I need to get back on track!

I always participated in athletics growing up & through high school, then once it wasn't part of my routine in college, I was pretty inconsistent. I have always continued to walk or do moderate exercise, but I'm trying to kick it into high gear now! I'm determined to rock my bikini and NOT be self conscious in it this summer! I find so much motivation in the blog world from other women like you :)

You are seriously awesome! I was always really athletic and fit growing up. I cheered competitively through high school (don't laugh!) and I was in the best shape of my life. College happened and my eating habits turned to crap. Jared and I are slowly getting back to the healthier lifestyle we both want, but it's tough to break years of bad habits!

But I def want Jared doing a double take when I walk by too :)

love this post! I was blessed growing up too, then I started college and the stress bulge hit, then the pregnancy bulge, then it just never went away. I have recently started the C25K program, but in terms of diet, i'm at a loss.. even in nursing school. I just don't think I have enough self-control somedays

You don't look at all frumpy in that picture! You look great! Your reasons and mine are the same.

I started exercising and eating healthier (and drinking less alcohol) because I was a complete chubby hot mess! You are certainly an inspiration!

You look great, but I know when you feel a certain way and want to make changes no one is going to stop you! I'm trying to add small things in each day to make my life healthier. My biggest no-no that I have to stop is the soda addiction. I don't drink much but even a little isn't good. If I could only stomach coffee for my caffeine fix :(

Reading this has really helped motivate me to kick start running again (really struggling to get out at the moment with the awful winter weather) - thanks.

Found you via the GYB blog hop, and looking forward to following.

I just get busy and don't make working out a priority, so it doesn't happen. I know that it's time to work out because I love to cook and to EAT!!!
