My sister’s foster daughter turns one year old today! I have never wrote about this on the blog before because it has been such an emotional journey. A year ago today sweet baby Kassie came into this world. I will spare some of the details bc it’s not my story to tell. Kassie was an addict baby. My sister, God Bless her, stepped in to foster her and her 3 yr old sister. The first couple of weeks were very devastating. Kassie’s chance of survival was very touch and go. My sister was with her every step of the way. Finally her health improved and she was able to go home.
Emily has been the mother to those two little girls for a year now. She has been through countless doctor’s appointments, therapy sessions, court dates, etc. I am so proud of her for stepping up and loving those girls unconditionally. Emily has not been successful in having children of her own. I’m thinking this was God’s plan because He knew two special little girls would need her.
My sister is such a strong person. I don’t know many people who would just step in, not ever having children of your own. She went from no kids, to having two children in one day. She loves the girls like they are her own. She deals with all the heartache and stresses so that they can have the best life possible.
Emily I’m so proud of you and the mother you have become. Kassie and A are so blessed to have you! I continue to pray for all of you. God will see to it that everything works out. I love you! And Happy Birthday Kass! It has been truly amazing to watch you grow this past year! Auntie Jen is so proud of you and how far you have come :)
